Oktoberfest 2017 is looming up again – a rare beast, difficult to describe – a mix of exotic food, live music, real ale and even dancing. It incorporates spooky Halloween highlights on The Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam, great jazz at Sevenoaks, Wild Boar specialities in and around Rye and a jazz supper at the historic Mermaid Inn. John Levett launches Oktoberfest 2017 with a stunning double act: Ace American clarinetist Ken Peplowski teams up with virtuoso Julian Stringle with the Craig Milverton Trio at the Ship Theatre at 8pm. Not to be missed! John has jazz from 8pm on alternate Tuesdays at The Three Horseshoes in Knockholt.

Oktoberfest organiser David Silk has been running and hosting an exciting array of unique jazz based events for over 40 years. His ethos is to actively create enjoyable and interesting live-music scenarios, to introduce live music to new venues and to enable newer artists onto the scene.
