Christmas chic to fabulous boutique

A Christmas fair – the gift that keeps on giving

This year we have more reason than ever to revel in the delights of artisan produce, sensational accessories, delightful homeware, fabulous footwear and unique artwork all under one roof. A Christmas fair also offers a magical shopping experience as it’s an opportunity to get into the festive spirit, meet up with friends, catch up over lunch and then shop til you drop! It’s also a lovely experience to share with a partner if you’re looking for special gifts for loved ones.

After a two-year absence, a warm welcome is assured at the much-anticipated return of the Country Lifestyle Boutique and Artisan Christmas Gift Fair to the East Sussex National Hotel, Uckfield. The event which is returning for its fifth year takes place over two days, on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th November.

Organisers, Michelle Baker and Fay Merrick’s fairs sprang to life in 2015, from an increasing concern at the loss of so many small independent businesses. Since then, their mission has been to bring together a unique selection of independent artisan makers, designers and creators to achieve a fabulous shopping experience for all their visitors. The concept of their artisan Christmas fairs draw on memories from when they were children and a shopping trip spent with mum was a special outing and something to look forward to.

Michelle remembers When shopping was a lovely day out, with a varied array of items to browse and good old fashioned customer service surrounded by people who care about what they sell and how they do it.’

Set amongst 1100 acres of lush green English countryside, the hotel, golf resort and spa will be hosting two days of festive shopping inside the hotel’s ground floor and ballroom. Filled with sixty gift exhibitors selling exceptional quality items, hand-picked for their originality, quality, quirkiness, fine design and craftsmanship.

You will be spoilt for choice with gifts to suit every taste and budget. From Christmas stationery and cards, natural beauty products, vegan friendly items, jewellery, fashion, gifts for children, homeware and artwork. Of course a Christmas fair just wouldn’t be the same without seasonal food and drink gifts, including chocolate and gin, and other goodies to take home.

The great thing about the location for the fair this year is that you can shop a little, recharge your batteries with a coffee in the café, ready for round two of shopping before having a leisurely lunch in the restaurant and ending the day with some bubbly in the bar. If you’re looking to make the day even more unique then why not take advantage of the hotel spa treatments on offer and pre-book an appointment for the day?

Sounds like the perfect recipe for great Christmas retail therapy! For full details and to pre-book discounted tickets visit their website.
