Now in its 13th year, the Seafood and Wine Festival is a hugely popular event, showcasing the excellent quality and variety of Hastings seafood and accompanying fine wines and produce. The event runs from 11 am until 6 pm both days over the weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September.
So much to enjoy
Visitors will sample delicious fish dishes from local restaurants and wines from local vineyards, along with a range of the best produce the area has to offer. Fantastic locally made beers, ciders, meat and vegetarian dishes will also be available. There’s also story-telling, circus skills, craft and fish related activities during the weekend for the whole family to enjoy.
Live music and cooking demos
As well as dozens of traders, there will be lots of live music and entertainment in the music tent on the beach; cooking demonstrations from CJ Jackson of Billingsgate Seafood Training Schoo‑l, and top local chefs, in the Classroom on the Coast. Learn what to do with the fish you can buy direct from the fishermen, making the most of the amazing seasonal fish varieties that the fishing fleet catch. All cooking demos this year are free and available on a first come first served basis – and always come with tasters!
Hastings fish
As part of the promotion of the Hastings Fish brand, launching at this year’s event, vouchers will be available from the Tourist Information stall if you want to get hold of a brand new Hastings Fish cool bag – redeemable when you buy some Hastings Fish from one of the local retailers.
Take the Jazz Breakfast
Sunday morning is for jazz lovers, as Liane Carroll sings us beautifully into day two of the weekend.
Doors for this open at 9am, with music from 10am to 12noon. Tickets for the Jazz Breakfast are just £16 for adults and £10 for children and includes a continental breakfast from 1066 Bakery, and a wristband for entry to the festival all weekend.
Check your updates
Because the event can get very busy, and there are lots of young children and very hot cooking equipment around, only assist dogs are allowed into the site. For further updates, and to see a programme for the weekend, please check the website: or check out the Facebook event page.
