2023 Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show
There’s so much to see and do at the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show in 2023! With fabulous attractions booked there’s a great value, fun-packed event for all. Taking place on the Sunday and Monday of the August bank holiday weekend (27th & 28th August) you might need to go both days to see everything!
Headlining in the Main Ring are the amazing monster trucks ‘Big Pete and the Grim Reaper’. They’ll be flying 15ft into the air, crushing cars beneath them and providing an unmissable high octane display each day. Then there’s a very special appearance from the Dorset Axemen who bring an entertaining show of traditional wood-cutting techniques. Using razor sharp saws and axes, teams work against the clock to bring old forestry traditions to life.
Keeping very firmly in touch with this show’s farming heritage, almost 2,000 farm animals will be competing in classes to find this year’s Supreme Champions. Beef and dairy cows, sheep of every shape, dairy goats and pigs will be enjoying their weekend away, getting pampered and preened for their moment in the show ring. Visitors can get up close, meet the farmers and learn all about what makes these show specimens so special.
Back by popular demand this year are The Mole Man, The Sheep Show and the birds of prey, leading a list of animals large and small! There’s the rabbits and the guinea pigs, the Ferret Roadshow and children will adore the chance to meet the meerkats. Take a stroll around the enormous vintage farm machinery display and the vintage cars, and perhaps join in the vintage spirit with the lindyhop dancers as they help entertain the crowds.
The Edenbridge & Oxted Show also offers some 200 classes for horses and ponies, many of whom will be travelling from far afield to compete in classes for jumping, driving and showing. This is one of the few shows still running a class for traditional style ‘four in hand’ coaches – an unmissable spectacle.
Dog lovers are spoilt for choice this year with agility demonstrations, working terrier show, gundog scurries and terrier racing in the country sports area, along with fly fishing, archery and many exhibitors of rural craft skills. Gardening enthusiasts will find the usual stunning displays of flowers and vegetables in the horticulture tent and many more stalls offering beautiful and useful products for homes and gardens.
Enjoy local food and drink or bring a picnic to enjoy while listening to the fantastic musical entertainment on offer. Wander through the Food Hall and off through the shopping stands to pick up some early Christmas gifts perhaps and to make sure you’ve stocked up on country clothing bargains ahead of the winter season. The team at this show are careful to keep its heart as a traditional agricultural show, celebrating countryside heritage and farming life today. It’s a super day out that you won’t want to miss.
