Duffy London
Collaborates with artist Lois O’Hara for Clerkenwell Design Week
Innovative London design studio Duffy London is excited to be participating in this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week, between 24 – 26 May 2022, in collaboration with artist Lois O’Hara.
In place throughout the week next to the entrance of Projects St James’ Green, the collaboration is in the form of a limited-edition Swing Table painted by Lois O’Hara. A playful and enduring design that recalls the youthfulness of childhood, Duffy London is the original creator of the Swing Table – a table which can be used in the boardroom, as a dining table or even outdoors, with hanging chairs suspended from a four-poster frame around a solid table top.
Known for her movement in design and vibrant use of colour, O’Hara’s painted Swing Table has been created bespoke for Clerkenwell Design Week. Decorated in her iconic design of swirling colourful patterns, a soft pink covers the four-poster frame whilst an array of rainbow colours flow across the rectangular tabletop and swing seats – from indigo blue to magenta to pastel yellow.
O’Hara’s ethos explores how colours can have positive effects on people and places by gently encouraging people to ‘move’; whether that be physically or emotionally. Duffy London’s collection of mesmerising pieces also display movement and playfulness by challenging gravity and illusion, allowing the two designers to work perfectly hand in hand for this partnership.
“We are thrilled to be working with Lois on this collaboration. At Duffy London, we love to create designs with a twist – and this is no exception. Lois’ use of colour and pattern truly complements how we see the table as a practical and enduring yet fun-loving piece that is sure to capture the attention of guests at this year’s show.’ Owner of Duffy London, Christopher Duffy.
Duffy London’s impressive pieces have already built a well-established fan base around the world with the likes of Google, Deliveroo and WeWork all commissioning their own Swing Table designs.
Everything about the Swing Table is totally customisable including the colour of the frame, lampshade, chairs and seat-pads. The tables can be round or a rectangle, and can be designed for both outdoor and indoor use.
