Decorex Alumni – The UKs high-end interior design show
London based designer Anna Glover is the creative force behind Decorex International’s visual campaign for 2020 with her beautiful new design, Brio, created exclusively for this year’s show. It’s taking place in and around London every year since 1978, Decorex, the UK’s leading high-end interior design show, returns 11th — 14th October for its second year in central London at Kensington’s Olympia. Anna’s playful pattern is both an homage to Olympia London’s rich history, celebrating the many different events and uses that have taken place within the late 19th century exhibition hall, and a celebration of contemporary luxury interior materials and colours.
Specialising in bespoke wallcoverings, Anna’s distinctive aesthetic has evolved from a background in artworks for high-end fashion and trend forecasting. After studying printed textile design at Falmouth, Anna worked for several years at design studios creating artworks for fashion companies worldwide before setting up her own studio and showcasing her first collections at Decorex in 2018.
Since setting up the studio, Anna has received a British Elle Decoration, a House Beautiful and an English Home New Year’s Honours Award. In 2018 she launched both a global collaboration with H&M and the Silk Route Collection, a series of ready to order textile wallcoverings.
In the style of her signature aesthetic Anna looked at the textures and hues found in luxury materials and interior finishes such as marble, stone, ceramics, velvets, silks, copper, leathers and lacquer to create Brio’s elegant Chalk and Jade colourway. The beautiful jewel tones complement the earthy colours of the horse motif, a nod to the historic horse shows that have taken place annually since Olympia London’s beginnings and the repeating geometric shapes reflect the architecture of the iconic building itself.
Anna comments: ‘I wanted to create something playful and elegant that told the story of Decorex and the history of the building. There have been so many amazing events under that roof; horse shows, home shows, the hippodrome circus. Brio is all about this sense of performance and display.’
Taking part once again in Decorex this October, Anna joins a portfolio of the best names in international design and interiors to launch a new collection of four never-seen-before, ready to order designs. Visitors to the show will find the bespoke motif, Brio, animated across Decorex’s digital platforms as well as transforming into a stunning wallcovering creating a focal point at the event.
