Tired of the lack of supermarket variety when it comes to potatoes? You may be surprised to know that in the UK alone there are over 500 varieties of the versatile potato. The Morghew Park Estate, one of Tenterden’s many hidden gems, has been working tirelessly for over twenty years to grow the best exotic, heritage, and conventional potatoes for all to enjoy.
Over thirty varieties were harvested this September including timeless classics such as King Edward, Nicola and Desiree and much-loved favourites Golden Wonder, Yukon Gold and Pink Fir Apple. They even have seven types of colourful potatoes (perfect for the Ghostly Halloween recipe below!) including the purple fleshed Vitelotte, one of the stars of the show. There really is a potato for every occasion and help is on hand at The Potato Shop if you’re looking for the perfect variety to elevate your favourite meals.
Alongside potatoes, Morghew is always looking to diversify its range of products from the countryside. Cold pressed rapeseed oil, stoneground flour, wild game, honey and wild garlic are all available to collect from their Honesty Stall on the Estate in Tenterden. They also offer nationwide home delivery service for those a little further afield.
