Sparkling Celebrations

Goldsmith Julian Stephens Ltd celebrates 20 years in Brighton.

On April 1st, 2003, Julian Stephens opened the doors to his very own Bespoke jewellery shop for the first time, with hopes it would not be a foolish endeavor. Now, in 2023, Julian and his team are celebrating 20 successful years in the business of handmade contemporary jewellery.

Group 1

If you are looking for a special piece of jewellery, Julian Stephens Goldsmith is the place to go; the windows are full of gorgeous rings, pendants, and earrings, designed and made by hand in the onsite workshop. And, if you are looking for something unique, Julian’s team can design and make a bespoke item for you, or even remodel old and inherited pieces of jewellery into something brand new.

With a workshop and a shop front gallery in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine, Julian has been meeting the needs of his customers for the last 20 years. From simple silver repairs to extraordinary diamond engagement rings there is no job too big or too small. Julian has exhibited at London’s prestigious Goldsmiths Fair and has completed commissions for an array of clients both local and across the globe. The team at Julian Stephens are all industry trained master craftsmen and craftswomen who have immaculate attention to detail, and use both traditional and modern techniques, which is what has secured them such a loyal customer base.

The thing we pride ourselves on here at Julian Stephens Goldsmith is our ability to engage personally with each of our customers from beginning to end of their journey with us; from stone selecting to perfecting the design for a piece of quality jewellery that will last a lifetime.” says Julian.

An exciting addition to Julian Stephens Ltd is the North Laine Jewellery School offering evening classes in jewellery making in a professional setting. Officially launched in 2019, the school has nurtured students’ eagerness to learn and has grown from one class a week to six classes a week, spanning weekday evenings and Saturdays. The positive feedback and interest generated since first opening the school has had Julian thinking up ways of accommodating more students in the future. Some students have gone on from the classes to create their own jewellery brand and their own successful businesses. Julian is now teaching regular slots in his other great passion Silversmithing at the Edward James Foundation, West Dean, Chichester where he teaches Bowl, spoon and box making in the fabulous setting of West Dean Estate.

To celebrate their milestone 20th anniversary and to thank their customers old and new, Julian and his excellent team at Julian Stephens Goldsmith is offering 20% off all ready-to-wear pieces in store and online during all of May 2023 with the code 20 YEARS”
