Dover College shortlisted for school awards
For the Times Educational Supplement Awards 2018 in two categories
Recognising its innovative, ambitious and newly moulded curriculum, the College has been shortlisted for the Creativity Award. The College has, over the last year, placed innovative teaching and learning at the heart of what it delivers, creating a thematic and skills-based curriculum that runs seamlessly from Reception in the Junior School to the Upper Sixth in the Senior School.
Celebrating the success of the College’s complete re-brand and increased visibility, locally, nationally and internationally, the College has also been shortlisted for the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award. After working in tandem with DRIVE Marketing, a local agency which has close links to the College, the ‘Think Differently’ campaign, alongside a new website, clearer branding, innovative advertising and a new and exciting prospectus, has generated enormous interest in the College’s provision, which is reflected in increasing pupil numbers.
Headmaster, Gareth Doodes, is overjoyed. “To have achieved this recognition on a national level is a testament to the perseverance, dedication and sheer hard work of the staff at the College.”
“When I took up post in January 2015, the College had just received one of the worst inspection reports possible, and was in an extremely challenging place. Now, thanks to the complete dedication of staff, the hard work of pupils and the wonderful support of the parent body, we not only have received the highest ratings in our inspection reports, but are also being nationally recognised for our provision, as well as the success of our marketing and admissions. Whatever the outcome of the awards ceremony and dinner in February, I’m hugely proud of my school for what has been achieved and thrilled that the school continues to go from strength to strength.”
