Saturday night, 6th July. I decided to treat my wife to a night of passion, so where better than St Mary in the Castle, a venue on Hastings seafront where an exciting cast prepared for their audience.
Overseen by artistic director Polo Piatti, and smoothly orchestrated by conductor Derek Carden, we were treated to a Fiesta feast! Headlined by Guilio Tampalini, his classical guitar work was superb, intricate and up close intimate with his audience, the highlight was his accompaniment of beautiful flamenco dancer Ana Duenas Leon, who captured the evening and entranced the Hastings audience.
Other highlights for me were the Hastings Sinfonia with their accomplished rendition of Entr’acte from Carmen and the enduring, wonderful voice of soloist Thomasin Trezise. Diana Freedman’s delightful dancers also stole a moment and the hearts of an appreciative audience. With a well thought out and rehearsed programme, the evening went down a storm and afterwards we left to enjoy the scene of a calm English Channel under a starry night. We did indeed enjoy Fiesta, a Night of Passion!
